According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in December 2023, China's crude steel production reached 67.44 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14.9%, the production of pig iron 60.87 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11.8% , steel production  108.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%, the coke production  41.28 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%.

In 2023, China's crude steel production reached 1019.08 million tons, unchanged from the previous year. The production of pig iron was 87.101 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%. The steel production was 1362.68 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%. The coke production was 49.2.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%.

In December, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 6.8% year-on-year in actual terms (the growth rate of added value is the actual growth rate after deducting price factors). From a month on month perspective, in December, the added value of industries above designated size increased by 0.52% compared to the previous month. In 2023, the added value of industries above designated size increased by 4.6% compared to the previous year.
